Diptych

New look, same attitude.

Hi there,

Assuming that you have already viewed my latest work. It is a diptych called Church Girls. I've promised myself within the next few months to photograph things that are important to me, things that I struggle with and push myself a bit further artistically. But really, what kind of artist doesn't make this same promise?

Basically, I used a large window as my light source and a white background. The subjects are myself and my sister (to which I am very grateful for her help). I used a 50mm lens and a Canon T2i camera.

Church Girls is a peek into myself. I have a constant struggle on where to draw the line. Referring to my outward appearance, there is a struggle with liberty and legalism, opinions, views and Scripture. It's a shadow that I live in, all the while proclaiming a personal relationship with God.

Now if you are not familiar with the Hispanic nondenominational church scene, you must be lost. I apologize. It's a world within a world within a world. You must see and live in it, converse with its inhabitants to understand it.

With all this being said,  I look forward to surprising myself.

Stay tuned my dear,

Keilah
