Yes it's true my friends, it's no longer a wish or a longing.
I am indeed going to sweet Jerusalem for three months.
I've given a heads up to (my rather sad) management, my last day of work is set. My one-way flight has been booked & I'm in search of a supremely gorgeous, vintage-looking set of luggage that the airport security can rummage through. So if you've seen any, please give me a heads up. Thanks.
Dear guys, I am so excited! It's so incredible that this opportunity has come my way again. I refuse to call it coincidence much less luck. God is just so good to me.
A lot of you ask me if I'm scared about making the trip across planet earth & with the conflict going on in Israel. And I've got to be honest. I am scared. I mean, anything can happen out there. Just going through the tough security and Israeli customs makes me break out in a cold sweat. It's much easier to stay home, go to work, volunteer at church, etc right?
But here's the deal breaker: Sure it may be easer (safer?) to stay home but come on, if God thinks that He can use my few talents in an awesome place as Israel, who am I to refuse? Plus, I will not be alone. No way will I be alone. With that, I put on my big girl boots & unless otherwise instructed by the Boss upstairs, I'm heading out.
With all that said, I will update my blog as much as I can with photos and videos during my stay in Jerusalem. Please be aware that I will include the important & unimportant (which is usually more entertaining).
Anyways, I was going through my archives from my first stay in Jerusalem last year & I found a video of one of my favorite memories: a group of tourists from South Africa stopped by the AMI Center (where I am to be working) for a meal & an informational lecture. While waiting, they started singing. I can almost swear that I had chills the whole time. The good kind of chills.
