Hello there,
Yes I've done it again! Thanks to management, I was able to take another week off to travel and explore a bit.
Former plans fell through and so my sister and I were 'stuck' with a week's vacation time on our hands. We decided on a nice road trip north.
First stop: Salinas. It was a must to stop by to see family and go to church (naturally)
Second stop: San Frannie
We hit up Pier 39 where I had to pay a visit to the Lefty Store. After an italian lunch by the bay we walked it off by climbing 400 steps up Telegraph Hill. Yes, it was four hundred brick and stone steps among cozy houses & lush gardens that led to Coit Tower.
The walls of the entire ground floor of the tower is covered in murals. Absolutely intriguing! My sister & I went up 11 floors on the $7 elevator ride & witnessed a spectacular view of the city. Unfortunately it was overcast but we did not let that stop us from appreciating the view nor the delicious sea breeze.
We went down to the ground floor and hung about, trying to justify the arduous trip we took to get up there.
Time was ticking so we hurried down the steps of death to find our truck & hit the road.
Oregon, after all, doesn't just come to you.
